We continue to make significant strides toward our fall 2026 reopening! Here is the latest. All 6 spans have been sandblasted, primed and painted. What a transformation! Half of the bridge has new decking, while structural work continues.

The Walnut Street Bridge Renovation Project is moving forward with an incredible amount of momentum, and we have significant progress to report! If you've noticed the bridge recently, you've seen a substantial change. Thanks to the tireless work of our crews for the sandblasting, painting, and intricate steel and woodwork completed on Spans 5 and 6. New wood decking continues from span 6 to Frazier Ave and will be completed shortly with decking work moving to other locations
