May 2026 Progress Update
We've come a long way since our cherished bridge closed, and now summer and the home stretch are upon us. Despite the fact that this year's Iron Man course did not incorporate the Walnut Street Bridge, many competitors and event fans expressed their excitement for the opening. This month, we're still getting rid of the old wood in spans 1 and 2 and replacing the sidewalk and decking. Additionally, we are on track to remove laydown sites, work platforms, and prep park grounds

March 2026 Progress Update
We continue to make significant strides toward our fall 2026 reopening! Here is the latest. All 6 spans have been sandblasted, primed and painted. What a transformation!

Walnut Street Bridge Renovation Project: Progress and Momentum!
The Walnut Street Bridge Renovation Project is moving forward with an incredible amount of momentum, and we have significant progress to report! If you've noticed the bridge recently, you've seen a substantial change. Thanks to the tireless work of our crews for the sandblasting, painting, and intricate steel and woodwork completed on Spans 5 and 6. New wood decking continues from span 6 to Frazier Ave and will be completed shortly with decking work moving to other locations
