6 MONTHS OUT

PHASE 1: PRECONSTRUCTION

The City of Chattanooga issues an "advertisement to bid" for the project. This allows the city to obtain fee proposals to perform the work.

4 MONTHS OUT

PHASE 1: PRECONSTRUCTION

Contractor bids are collected, reviewed, and analyzed. A contractor will be recommended to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).

3 MONTHS OUT

PHASE 1: PRECONSTRUCTION

TDOT concurs with the intent to award and a recommendation is submitted to Chattanooga City Council. The City Council votes and awards the contract.

2 MONTHS OUT

PHASE 1: PRECONSTRUCTION

The City of Chattanooga executes the contract with the contractor. After contract execution, a pre-construction meeting will be held with the contractor, and a notice to proceed to begin construction will be given to the contractor.

PHASE 2: ACTIVE CONSTRUCTION

1MONTH OUT

Phase 2 communication plan begins as the contractor prepares to start the renovation work.

Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon. The bridge is open for this event.

MAY 19, 2024

Ironman 70.3. The bridge is open for this event.

JUNE 2024

Riverbend 2024. The bridge is open for this event.

JUNE 23, 2024

Chattanooga Waterfront Triathalon. The bridge is open for this event.

SEPTEMBER 2024

Moon River Festival. The bridge is open for this event.

SEPTEMBER 29, 2024

Ironman - Anything is Possible. The bridge is open for this event.

OCTOBER 2024

7 Bridges Marathon. The bridge is open for this event.

NOVEMBER 2024

Head of the Hooch Regatta. The bridge is open for this event.
